Some photos taken on the class meeting of several classes which ended recently. My camera was in disrepair for quite a while so there were few social pictures to be had. But, now that my portable camera is back in action, watch out! |

Here is a beautiful piece by a woman all the way in Japan who made this piece from written directions. Consider emailing a photo to be posted here for the December 2007 Bead News! |
|
Helena Tang's Ootheca Cuff submitted 10/19/2006 Class: Helena used 15/0 seed beads for the entire project which embellished only one RAW base. |

Here is a gaggle of new pieces created recently! Some of these pieces will be samples for future classes, some will be given as gifts, and some will be added to my hoard and can later be sited as proof of my bead obsicktion. If you like what you see and would like to recreate it, email me for tips. I can also send a larger file version of any of these if you'll like to have one as your desktop wallpaper. |

This Stringing with Flexible Beading Wire sample was created in during the first meeting of an Extraordinary Jewelry Workshop class. I fell in love with this strand of fluorite because of the nice rounded disk shape, it is so voluptuous! There are 2 silver bead caps and 1 4mm crystal quartz between each big bead. |

This Stringing with Flexible Beading Wire sample necklace was created during the first meeting of an Extraordinary Jewelry Workshop class. These are just some inexpensive Chinese glass beads I picked up along the way that had a very subtle variation from one bead to the next on the strand making them look light amber, but with a greater weight. There are 3 silver beads between each glass bead. |

This Stringing with Flexible Beading Wire necklace was strung as a sample for The Beading Frenzy's Basics of Bead Stringing. It is a partially used 16" strand of white freshwater pearls, 7 fab Venetian glass beads, and vermeil beads and clasp on flexible beading wire. Faaancy! |

Here is a Crystal Shiva Earring in a fresh color palette. I may kit this palette in the future. Here is the one already available as a kit. |

Admittedly, when I buy pearls for use in week 3 Knotting Silk of Extraordinary Jewelry Workshop and week 2 of Wire Jewelry Workshop I usually get suckered into buying a big pearl strand for myself. Here's one of those strands knotted up on purple silk. YUM! |
![]() |
This Knotting Silk sample piece from the third class meeting of an Extraordinary Jewelry Workshop features 6mm round tigers eye beads and one large piece of labrodorite from a strand I picked up at the Bead & Button Show in 2005 |

I usually think of a Peyote Stitched Cuff as a non-stretching thing, but student questions in Seed Bead Therapy helped me to step out of my little box for a few moments (actually, a couple hours) and create this piece with elastic thread. I'm fairly satisfied with the result but am still waiting to see if it will fall apart! |
![]() |
This is actually a slightly older piece but I've had metal-smithing on my mind so I thought I'd share. The silver rectangle was sawed out from a larger sheet, put a tube rivet at the top and stamped "PAX" into the face with a leafy branch. The ends of the waxed cotton cord are doubled over and bound with 24-gauge wire. |

Sometimes if feels like I'll be working on the Cellini Spiral forever, but most of the time I'm simply dazzled by the colors and forget about all my cares. This is an unfinished piece and is currently at about 2-1/2' long. It was started as a sample piece for a 4-part Seed Bead Therapy class offered at Redwood City Parks and Recreation. |

Here's an up-close look of this dazzling Cellini Spiral. |

Just a little something I threw together in an All You Need to Know About Wire class at The Beading Frenzy. The 8mm cubes are on 18-gauge wire links created with the Tool Trilogy. The 18-gauge links are connected with 4mm 22-guage soldered jump rings. Two 4mm bicone dangles hang from each soldered jump ring. Spaaaaarkly! |

Here's an up-close look of this bracelet of silver and Swarovski. MEEEOW! |

THIS is Basic Loop Linked Necklace exemplifies my expensive bead obsicktion. We cover this technique in All You Need to Know About Wire or the Earrings: Doorway to Wire. All Swarovski crystals put on 20-gauge wire and loops created at both ends. Then, each crystal link is connected with 22-gauge 4mm soldered jump rings. I particularly like the way the new caribbean blue opal colored beads pleasantly stick to my hand when I pick them up--ernite, pacific opal, peridot, crystal AB, and aquamarine too. I blame The Beading Frenzy for having such a vast collection. It's obviously not my fault!!! |

Here's a close-up of that crazy chain necklace. This is the longest one yet and reaches almost to my knees! |
![]() |
This cute little pair of Embellished Hoop Earrings was inspired by Alice Korach. The main part of the hoop is bent out of 18-gauge round dead soft wire, then a 20-gauge round half-hard piece of wire is the "lever" part which goes through the ear. Then the 18-gauge was embellished with glass and crystals on 26-gauge dead soft round wire. |

In Wire Jewelry Workshop, this Spiral Link Bracelet was created. It is closed off with a hand-made toggle clasp formed out of copper wire, soldered, and antiqued. |
![]() |
A recent, more finished version of a Spinning Link Necklace born of the 3rd class meeting of Wire Jewelry Workshop. Each hammered link was cleaned up with a metal file, then lovingly sanded with several different grades of paper before being linked together with handmade 16-gauge jump rings. |

A simple Gossamer Floss Bracelet born of a demonstration at the end of Basics of Bead Stringing at The Beading Frenzy. I is mostly glass with a Bali silver and Venetian glass bead feature. |
![]() |
A simple Memory Wire Bracelet born of a demonstration a the end of Basics of Bead Stringing at The Beading Frenzy. It features a strand of larger amber chips and two Tierra Cast dangles at the ends to finish things off. |
![]() |
This Memory Wire Cuff was an experiment born in the 4th class of Extraordinary Jewelry Workshop. The number of beads on the 20-gauge eye pin ladder pieces was graduated for a nice effect. |
![]() |
A nice little collection of Gossamer Floss Bracelets was worked up in a 4th class meeting of Extraordinary Jewelry Workshop. I pulled blue beads from my working collection for this palette based on the color blue. |

An up-close view of the gossamer floss bracelets. Eye candy! |
